-Study notes:
Self-serving bias- When others suffer, we blame the problem on their personal qualities. When we suffer, we blame the problem on forces outside ourselves.

The Fourth of July. For Ms Kristi.
I have been in the U.S for eight months. So it's the first time I heard about the Fourth of July. I did some research one line, and I found out that " In the United States, Independence day, commonly known as the Fourth of July , is a federal holiday commemorating adoption of the Declaration of Independence in July 4,1776, declaring the independence from Kingdom of Great Britain. Independence day is commonly associated with fireworks, parades, barbecues, carnivals, fairs, picnics, concerts, baseball games, political speeches and ceremonies, and various other public and private events celebrating the history, government, and traditions of United States. Independence day is the national day of the United States". From wikipedia.
Normally, holidays means party, barbecue, enjoying a day with the family... But for me it's the opposite. It means more work. Because I work in bakery as a cake decorator. In a normal days I work five to eight hours, but in "holidays" I work ten to twelve hours. When people celebrate a day as this one, they came to us to get a cake. Which means that I have to make more then usual.

The draft. For Ms Kristi.
Morocco is a beautiful country of northwest Africa. For me it's the best place in the world. Not just because it's my birth place, but because of many other reasons. some of them are the Moroccan cuisine, the incredible varied nature, and the Moroccan people.
First of all, Moroccan cuisine is a very diverse, rich, and delicious cuisine. It is a mix of Berber, Mediterranean, and Arab influences. Every city or area in Morocco is marked by its own style of food. But there is some dishes that all Moroccan make. Like "Couscous" , which is a traditional dish, it is delicious and healthy; It's made with grain, meat, and vegetables.
secondly, Morocco has three fabulous mountain ranges. The Moroccan coastline, which fronts both of the Mediterranean and the Atlantic, offers a great beaches and beautiful old cities. Morocco has also a very vast and beautiful Sahara where you can find wonderful kasbahs, oases, and villages.
Thirdly, Moroccan people are warm and friendly. A simple conversation with the person sitting next to you at a local cafe could result a lifelong friendship. And it might lead your friend to invite you to enjoy a Moroccan meal at their home. By nature Moroccan people are hospital. It is an essential element to our culture.
Finally, it's because of all of these reasons, that I think Morocco is the best place in the world. I'm sure if you visit it, you will like it. And it is going to be an unforgettable experience; That you would like to have another time.

Discussion question; for Ms Rosemary
I think the beer advertising should be outlawed on TV ,and college newspapers. Because it misleads people by creating several harmful beliefs about drinking.
Drinking is a synonym of success may be one of these beliefs. Another one is that drinking makes a person more sexually attractive. Finally drinking solves social problems and fosters happy relationships. But in reality alcohol is a synonym of failure, and it destroys relationships.

Writing homework for Ms Kristi.
- Rich supporting details.
- the first sentence make me want to read on, because I want to know what are those hundred sounds and smells of happiness.
- The writer emphasize two senses: smell=smells, and hearing=sounds.
- When I read the sentence "At the break dawn, my grandma would sing, "Besame mucho como si fuera la ultima vez" which means..." I almost heard it. She chose a very popular song.
- I would like the writer to mention a smell of some thing, you can not find, but in Puerto Rico, like food, or flower...
- Some times I get confused, the ideas are not clear enough, I think because the writer was translating.

Night Watch
Once, my best friend needed my help, and it felt very good to be able to help her.
Najlae, my best friend, has been married for four years. She has a wonderful two years old boy. her marriage was perfect , and she was deeply in love with her husband; Until she discovered that he cheated on her.
Najlae was shocked, she didn't expect that from him. She needed someone to talk to, and I was the first person she thought of.
I knew that I can not solve her problem. She had so many questions, I didn't have answers for, but I listened to her, I held her when she cried, I told her that although the problem is very serious, she needs to move on with her life especially for her child.
I tried my best, because in those situations there is no right thing to say or to do.

Brainstorm
I live in an apartment that I don't like, it is too small and expansive, and I don't like the neighborhood it's too noisy, but the problem is that I work seven days a week, and I study in the evenings, so I don't have time to look for an other one.
I think I don't have no other way to solve this problem, but make some research one line, and when I will find some thing interesting. I will take two hours off work, or escape a class,to go and see it.
