The implied main idea is not stated in the paragraph or passage. It is puzzled out by the various details. To figure out an implied main idea ; I think we have to attentively read the passage, then ask our selves: - What the author wants to tell us? -What all these details are about? - What is the idea the author wants to explain to us? And our answer has to cover all the details in the passage.
